Rooftop & Old City portraits
Two hours, walking distance, the postcard skyline behind them.
A half day that reads the city from above: terraces, the Grand Bazaar roofs and Galata.

The skyline of İstanbul is familiar from postcards; this programme looks at it from inside. It opens on a terrace in the Old City where Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque sit in the same frame. Access to the lead-covered roofs of the Grand Bazaar is arranged with the traders' permission and depends on availability; on days when it cannot be done another terrace over the bazaar is taken instead, and you are told in advance. The route passes the nineteenth-century façades of Pera, looks over the whole city from Galata Tower and closes on a viewing terrace the tourist crowd does not know. It is walked, with stairs and slopes along the way. The tower ticket and drinks on the terraces are quoted separately.
Stops flex with the weather, traffic and your guest's pace.
